Employee performs routine work in a health care facility by assisting physicians, physicians assistants, and nurse practitioners in patient care. Duties may include: Operating blood pressure cuffs and stethoscopes. Assisting medical professionals with patient examinations or procedures. Performing routine tests as ordered by medical professionals. Cleaning/restocking examination rooms and sterilizing instruments. Recording patient testing information. Scheduling appointments for patients as ordered by medical professionals. Drawing blood under supervision of a physician or PA if appropriately trained to do so.
Candidates will require the following qualifications:
- Medical Assisting Certificate/Diploma from an accredited school

- Prior medical assisting experience

Completes daily cleaning of work areas, offices, sleep rooms, restrooms, labs, waiting areas, corridors, public areas, patient discharges, etc. as assigned. Remains in assigned work area unless on a scheduled break or unless employee notifies supervisor prior to schedule break time. Assigned keys and pager are turned in at the end of shift. Keeps cleaning cart, equipment hopper room and trash-room clean and organized. All spray bottles properly labeled. Disposes of infectious waste in accordance with the policies and procedures of the department and hospital. This includes maintaining the storage area as well as the carts in a clean efficient manner. Stock all dispensers in all assigned areas on a daily basis or more frequently if needed. Completes detail work on a scheduled basis. (high and low) dusting, wood cleaning, spot walls, clean glass, clean door plates and fingerprints, clean stainless steel, etc. Maintains a 90% quality rating. ? Completes all project work/major cleans, isolation room cleaning as per procedure. Reports all facility problems (leaky faucets, lights out, etc) to supervisor to facilitate timely repairs. Reports all problems with cubicles, drapes, shower curtains to supervisor for immediate action. Responds as directed in emergency situations including working past posted scheduled shift if needed.
